    We have four incredible childern that we are so proud of.   I'd like to say a little about them because I believe that children tend to reflect the character of thier parents.   Well, that's really just an excuse.   I just like to brag every chance I get.   What parent doesn't?

    Our oldest daughter is Lynn.   She and her husband David have settled furthest from the fold, residing in Danville, CA where they are both accountants.   They have given us two lovely grandchildern.

    Next in line is Laurie.   She and her husband Rich currently live near Salem.   Laurie is an English and Speech instructor at a high school in Marion county (She would probably have a few corrections to make to my grammar here!).   I am very proud to say that she has been nominated for Oregon Teacher Of The Year three times, and was a finalist in 1999.   They have given us two wonderful grandchildren as well.

    My son, Mike, is one of the hardest working guys I know.   He began studying the culinary arts when he was still in high school and graduated from one of the best schools in the country in Chicago (he even put himself through school, wow!).   He has practiced his craft all over the country, from resorts in Florida, to participating in the revival of Skamania Lodge (helping the town to shift its economic infrastructure from the loss of many wood industry related jobs to a healthy tourist trade), and was in the partnership that brought the restaraunt "Tribecca" to Portland.   He is currently the Head Chef at the DoubleTree Hotel in downtown Portland.   Mike and his wife Amy have blessed us with two great grandchildren.

    Our last child, Sue, lives near Salem as well.   She is a nurse by trade, but has made the difficult decision to give up the 9 to 5 job that brings home more money but lacks the incomparable satisfaction and conscious responsibilty of staying home to raise her and her husband Paul's 4 children.
